A light snack, such as chips or juice, will be provided for participants during the program day. SACC offers four programs: school year, winter, spring and summer camp for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. The SACC program is designed to serve children who need care five days a week. SACC enrollment and fees are not able to accommodate drop-in or short term service.

PAC meetings are held throughout the year and provide an opportunity for sharing program-wide information. PAC representatives provide invaluable communication about the needs of children and families in their community in order to inform SACC programming and policies. Additionally, the Parent Advisory Council advocates for high-quality, affordable, accessible school age child care services throughout the county.
Several children made their own outfits including hats, scarfs, skirts and ponchos for a center festival while other children used their talents to build and decorate bird houses.
Are humans still polluting our ocean? This original play digs deeper into the wonders of nature with comedy, touching moments, and dancing! The children learned how to create a character for a play, act on stage, and learned steps to hip hop choreography. Merging nature with the performing arts turned out to be a fun and enriching experience for both the children and their families.
Children at Forestville SACC made tissue paper flowers in honor of a young girl diagnosed with cancer. As part of their community service outreach, the flowers were donated to a local hospital to bring cheer to children and their families. Union Mill SACC adopted two rabbits one from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and one from a family in the community , and a hamster all of which joined the animals already in their Nature Center including a hamster, a frog, four fish and a snail.
The children really enjoy including the rabbits when they play board games. The children and families have also enjoyed the weekend program which gives families the opportunity to take the animals home for the weekend. Download the article.
