Working with so many people gave me the ability to always be busy and push myself further. You will wake up excited to go to work. The hours fly by while you are there.

Lack of time off, and poor scheduling. Compensation was worth it. Opportunity for advancement does not come often.

Just like all the rest. Had high hopes this place would be different, but it's not. If you're not management, just keep your head down and your mouth shut. Your input is neither required nor desired. It's the oilfield so it a go go but they care about home time. Many many expectations going into the job Had to hit the ground running and the learning curve was steep. I did not expect that I would be doing not only my job, but the job of the Operations Manager and District Manager as well. I was put on call almost from the start and didn't have very many weekends to call my own. They fired the Operations Manager and didn't fill the position before I left.

Also, the District Manager rarely offered to take some of the on call nights or weekends so that I could have some time for my family. Pros Lots of overtime, IF you aren't salaried. I loved this job. It was a good place to work. Hours were good, pay was good, job opportunities were good. The only thing that isn't good is when the oilfield suffers, so does the job. Blackhawk was a great place to learn about the oil field and learn about how the oil field operates.

My day typically started with a morning safety meeting discussing what the main focus of the day was. The management was extremely experienced in the oil field industry and were always open to answering questions about anything I needed to know. The workplace was very structured and by the book and was very largely dependent on safety regulations and OSHA standards. The hardest part of the job was being away from home for long periods of time throughout the day and getting very little sleep due to the demanding and stressful workload we were required to fulfill.

The most enjoyable part of my job was all the advancement and skills I was able to gain for all the years I worked at Blackhawk Specialty Tools. I also enjoyed traveling to rig locations and seeing how oil rig operations truly worked.

Pros I was to obtain training with various types of forklifts and a 10 ton overhead crane, I was trained and certified to work with a tool torque machine. Cons The cons of the company working late hours and being away from my family the majority of the time.

The company was a great place to work. The service expectations delivered to our customers aligned with my work ethic. Travel was a must as stated in the job description. Pros Compensation, time off was considered crucial for life work balance. Cons Very few and insignificant, since pros were over the top.

Pros free lunch. Cons distance. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No There are 1 unhelpful reviews 1. Long days and always on call. Decent place of employment. If you like to work long hours and make ok money this is it. Great benefits. Lack of communication with management and other internal employees. Great leaders, best technology in the industry! Great company! Pros Everything. Cons None. Thru years with halliburton met a lot of customers due to my cementing skills and knowledge.

Blackhawk is a decent place to work. Unfortunately, pay is not great and there is not much room for advancement. Hours depend on how the oilfield is doing. Management could improve.
